One of the popular singers of Indian cinema, Mrs. Vani Jayaram passed away today (Feb. 4) at her residence in Chennai. It was observed by maid of her residence that Vani suffered injuries on forehead and was later shifted to hospital where doctors declared that she was dead when brough to hospital. A day before this, we saw one of the versatile actor of the Telugu film industry Vishwanath passed away and after this the demise of the veteran singer has brought huge loss to indian film industry and fans.
The classic songs of the films of 1970s, 1980s and 1990s are still evergreen and been heard everyday in day today life in radio stations and social media. Vani Jayaram’s contribution to the world of music is immense as she lent voice to many popular songs.
Vani Jayaram, who made her entry as a playback singer through the Bollywood film Guddi, has sung songs in many Indian languages including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam. she has sung more than 650 songs in Kannada alone and most songs with SP Balasubrahmanyam.
She has received many awards and has recently been honored with the Padma Bhushan Award by the Central Government for her immense contribution in the film industry. Vani Jayaram, who lost her husband Jayaram in 2018, lived alone in an apartment in Chennai.
